Stream "Skying" LP by The Horrors

During the weekend apparently some jackass leaked the new Horrors album Skying, which I may have mentioned during my Cat's Eyes post; something you should check out if you haven't heard. XL Records in response has done the really awesome thing and has released the album as a stream on their website. So go try it out if you're curious, and please support them heavily by buying their album if you like.

I can't say that I'm the biggest fan of The Horrors, but I do love what Faris is doing with Cat's Eyes, and I used to be much more interested when they were back in their garage root hay day.

This album is probably more in line with listeners of older 80's indie bands like Joy Division or New Order. I never remember which one did what. There is also a lot more of that ambient electronic sounds going on in the background, and bits of vocals that remind me of Morrissey.

Most of the songs seem uninspiring, seeming par for the course when it comes to British alt rock, but there are some gems in there as well. Check out my favorite "Endless Blue".

Give it a listen and tell us what you think. And remember the support your local music scene by not being a big poop head and leaking albums. Not that most of us have a chance to anyway.
