Mr. Dream "Unfinished Business"

Mr. Dream - Unfinished Business

So, in vein of everyone else, I have discovered a cool, super hip band through bandcamp. They are known as Mr. Dream. Two of the three members of the band happen to be writers who have actually had shit published, so you could say I'm jealous that these guys not only have a pretty decent band, but they're able to pursue their writing careers as well. Best of both worlds, eh? But, all jealousy aside, lets get happy, have some bourbon, and talk about the band itself. They hail from Brooklyn, N.Y., and are considered to be punk/rock, though I'd like to consider them to be "art punk". Are they surreal? Sure. But today, I'm not in the mood to dissect an entire album for you, so I'm going to talk about a great song off of their album "Trash Hit". The name of the song is called "Unfinished Business". The song itself is brilliant. It's got a mellow bass line, a catchy, steady drum beat and guitarmanship that will make your brain feel like its liquifying. The vocals are almost spoken, but there's still some singing involved. I'm just glad his voice isn't nasally or whiny. I suppose you could also say the band has sort of a lo-fi thing going for them, which I like, though I'm not very familiar with many lo-fi bands. Anyway, like I said, sip some bourbon, listen to this song, buy their album, and you will have a pleasant Sunday afternoon on your hands.
