Meowch by Annie Hardy
Giant Drag is one of those unknown bands that shows a lot of promise and then disappears for forever and a half before returning with an album. Where as their first album was a very fuzzed up but straight forward work of indie rock, in similar vein to Land of Talk, "Meowch" seems to be a bit more like jumping into a deep dark pit full of monkeys grinding axes.
Here's what Annie Hardy has said about her new song and album: "This song is the first coming your way free to freak you out because you have no idea what this record is going to sound like…the answer? A lot of things. Enjoy, and don’t be scared."
If you are freaked out, try some of their old stuff. It's quite good, and I'm hopeful that their new album won't just sound like whales making love in Pony-land.
