"Everything Must Go" EP by Top Surprise

Top Surprise - Samsara
Top Surprise - Saturn (The Season)

If you've never heard of Top Surprise, don't panic. They're a lol-fi rock (or noise rock) band that comes from Brazil, with a brand new (Actually a year old) EP to give you some food for though, and by food, it's just mostly good old rock and roll fun.

If you're not into the lo-fi thing, this might be kind of painful for you, so for people trying out new things, I beg you to have to patience. But if you don't have a problem with scratchy sounding mics and heavy deep fuzzed guitars, this is the pure shit.

Starting from their first song "Samsara" all the way to the end, the energy is pretty much packed, and for some double pleasure you even get a female vocalist doing some harmony. (How can I tell it's a girl? You're right, it could be a guy just pitched real high on the mixer, but let me dream alright?)

Sometimes when you listen to this genre, it's easy to hear the inability of members to produce songs properly, or even play their instruments correctly sometimes. Not these guys. They go through the full range of motions, and each song is distinctly different, and yet all geared for a great summer sound track. Very reminiscent of an older era of rock and roll, they take huge influences from the really old, but with that apathetic new rock sensibility.

If not enjoying, it is clearly interesting. Give this band a listen, and then go support them on their page, where they are just giving away this album for free.

Oh, and thanks to Bolachas for the great find.
