Watch "Adversity" by Beach Fossils

Although deeply engulfed in the throws of jangly guitars and retro bass drums that we all know and love from companies like Slumberland, there is a discerning measure of craftsmanship that comes from the status quo of indie rock prior.

In simple non-douche-bag terms: It sounds like if Rogue Wave decided to take some mescaline and then work under Slumberland. Thankfully, I can't say that I hate it at all. It's pretty sullen, and mellow, but there is enough energy that gets me through the song, and if there is one thing a music video has to do, it is to make you interested in the rest of their works.

I'm gonna give their 2011 EP a listen, and maybe I'll find some rays of sunshine in there too. Give some of it a try on their myspace.

Thanks to WAWSTSF for the video.
