The Parlours - I dream of Chicago
A beautifully voiced band on Daytrotter Sessions today. Many of us who don't live in Iowa wonder what good possibly comes out of there, but today we get to listen to something pretty awesome. This band has got a lot going for them musically, and stylistically they balance their sound very well between not too much folk and just enough indie pop.
Their pop melodies stick in your head, and a lot of the releases from the folk comes right at the choruses when you're wondering to yourself "are they just folk?" A lot of wonderful tunes that shouldn't be missed at the session, especially since it's different from the EP.
An upcoming band, I'm excited to see what other great tunes they'll come up with. I encourage you to go and take a listen and read Daytrotter's author's own musings about the band.
