"Harmonia" by The Shortwave Set

  The Shortwave Set - Harmonia

Track number one on their second full length album, The Shortwave Set's "Harmonia", is an interesting start to a rather diverse collection. The whole album is an experiment that tweaks with atmosphere and style, and the first song is a great indicator of their plan.

The quality of sound is very clear and distinct, making the effected voice and it's choir memorable with it's ethereal style and melody. And while on the topic of melody, a hand has to be given for Pettitt's work on charming up a simple and repetitive, yet very intriguingly familiar tune.

The orchestration of the song is well done, and with it's short length it makes the listener beg for more, hoping that the rest of the album will meander in this very lonely and desolate sounding territory. Oh how surprised they will be.
