Happy Sunday, I can't believe how nice it is outside today. Instead of trying to find something new to share this morning, I thought it would be nice to share something softer and simple by The Decemberists with Laura Veirs. I guess it seemed like a good pick me up to start the day.
A lot of Decemberists fans weren't such a big fan of this album, but I have to say, there are some gems on here, nonetheless. Perhaps it's because of so many bad songs that the good ones sound better. Or perhaps all the songs aren't bad, just not what you would've expected from the talented Mr. Meloy (You see what I did there?), or maybe the album just seemed repetitive when looking at their full discography.
It's not a bad album though, and it's worth giving a once over. If you're doing anything today, I suggest you go and get yourself a copy, sit around the house, read a book, and act like a Folger's coffee commercial.
I also forgot they came out with a new album this year. I'll be sure to get on that... maybe... later...
