Blonde Redhead - 23
Blonde Redhead is one of those bands that sort of slides in to the back of your head, only to be come back once in a while when you hear one of their tunes. A lot of this comes from the balance between their striking melodies and the haunting ambiance, which seems to come naturally to this quartet.
This Saturday's afternoon artist in KEXP happens to be this band, and I was lucky enough to hear one of their singles that I haven't heard before. From their second LP by the same name, I was rather astonished to hear the change from a their original alternative sound to a more indie rock backing.
But all of this you can read on KEXP, where they have much more to share if you're interested. Hopefully you'll all enjoy this as much as I did.
